Outside of my work life I'm an incredibly lucky husband married to my Austrian wife, Susanne for 18 years. We are the proud parents of two wonderful boys who give us an immense source of joy and zest for life each and every day. As a family we travel a great deal and have been fortunate enough to have spent many months touring throughout Europe, Northern Africa and the United States. Although we have been to many places around the world, whenever we come home to San Diego we can't help but saying, this is the best place in the world to live. My family is my life.
Golf, Soccer and Life Science are my odd combination of special interests.
Golf fully satisfies me because it's a finesse sport that challenges the mind as well as the body. There is an interesting similarity between Golf and Marketing as they both take a great deal of assessment of your tactics, creativity in your approach and trust in your ability to execute on your plan. I have achieved a 6 HC at the end of 2010 and played on the Golf Channel's Amateur tour. I shot my first hole-in-one on March 11, 2011 at The Crossings Golf Course on the Par 3, 4th hole, 225 yards using my Taylormade 200 series 5 wood and Taylormade Penta ball. One life goal I have is to reach a 2 HC and play in a PGA qualifying event.
I have been a soccer coach for the past 6 years with the Vista Storm's recreational program. Being a soccer coach has been a wonderful experience, it has taught me a lot about myself, my community and how healthy competition can be fun and not overly aggressive. This was my last year as coach as my boys have moved on to "professional" instruction and I am now seeking a way to fill that desire to give back to the youth in my community through teaching and promoting the game of Golf.
I have worked in and around the Life Science industry at different times over the past 12 years. The fascinating scientific research combined with the prospect of helping millions of sick or injured people around the world is what makes me so taken with this discipline. I am no scientist, however I do have a deep understanding of the field and have truly enjoyed marketing within this industry.
